Endurance 50 with Dean Karnazes
October 5th, 2006 - Surprise AZ
Endurance 50 Marathon #19

It was a hot day to run a marathon in the NW Valley. Ultramarathoner Dean Karnazes and 46 other runners started the day at 8:00am to run 26.2 miles...this was the 19th day in a row that Dean was to cover the distance. Dean Karnazes is a motivational speaker and perhaps the greatest ultramarathon runner in history. The 50 day event is a fund raiser for KARNO Kids, a foundation that promotes physical fitness for youth.

Running with Dean was Galloway Pace Group Leader Greg Nelson. At the finish, the elapsed time was 4:32:00 and the temperature was 95 degrees with a 60 degree dew point...Monsoon weather! Greg looked great as he finished and said he really enjoyed the run.
Dean is approaching the half way point in the journey and still looks strong. You can follow his progress at www.endurance50.com.
